Boss BP-1W Waza Craft Booster/PreampSonic Sweetener
The vintage BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble and RE-201 Space Echo are legendary for their inspiring and influential effect sounds. But they’re also loved for their variable analog preamp circuitry, which instantly infuses any guitar tone with character, body, and richness. With the BP-1W, you can now access these two classic preamp tones in a premium Waza Craft pedal, along with a natural, clear voice that functions as a standard clean boost.-
Features
- Waza Craft innovation for a premium analog tone experience
- Premium booster and preamp pedal with analog circuitry derived from legendary BOSS and Roland effects
- Versatile design with three selectable modes
- CE mode reproduces the bright, bell-like preamp sound of the BOSS CE-1 Chorus Ensemble
- RE mode reproduces the fat, warm preamp sound of the Roland RE-201 Space Echo
- NAT mode provides a natural clean boost with minimal sound coloration
- Gain knob controls the amount of saturation introduced into the signal
- Level knob for controlling the overall volume and driving the inputs of amps and other pedals
- Selectable standard or vintage input buffer with different tone and response characteristics
- Made in Japan
- BOSS five-year warranty
For generations, savvy guitarists have relied on key pieces of analog gear to enhance their core tone. Though discontinued over 30 years ago, the CE-1 and RE-201 remain widely used by many players for their characterful preamps as much as their famous analog effect sounds. These “secret weapons“ make the sound richer, fuller, and more satisfying to play, even when their effect processing is bypassed. The BP-1W lets you integrate the magical tone-shaping properties of these legends into your own rig—without having to seek out rare and expensive vintage originals.
Versatile Analog Sound Shaping
The BP-1W is one of the most flexible boost pedals available, offering three unique operation modes in a single compact stomp. Along with CE and RE vintage modes, a third mode provides a pristine clean boost when you want to pump the volume without added color. The Gain knob allows you to dial in a range of saturation and drive tones unique to each mode, while the Level knob lets you balance the effect/bypass sound or push downstream pedal and amp inputs for further tonal enhancement.
Choose Your Tone Color
CE—This mode reproduces the CE-1 preamp tone, known for its bright, bell-like character and tight low-end response. Tweak the Gain knob to conjure an array of pleasing tones, from mild to aggressive.
RE—This mode reproduces the unique color and response of the RE-201 preamp circuitry. It adds fatness and warmth even at the lowest Gain settings, with increasing saturation as the knob is turned up. You can achieve powerful driven sounds with rich analog compression characteristics, providing foundational vintage color to feed pedals and amps.
NAT—Produces a punchy, natural voice with minimal coloration. The modern analog Waza Craft circuitry provides a wide boost range, delivering top performance for any standard clean boost application.
Two Premium Buffers
The BP-1W features high-quality buffer circuitry with two selectable types. Slide the rear panel switch to choose between the pure signal of a standard buffer or a vintage buffer with lower input impedance. The vintage type produces a warmer tone and a smooth dynamic response, with maximum benefits achieved by connecting a guitar with passive pickups directly to the BP-1W’s input. The standard buffer is always engaged for signal conditioning when the pedal is bypassed, regardless of the buffer switch setting.

Boss HM-2W Heavy Metal Distortion Waza Craft Made In JapanProduced from 1983 to 1991, the BOSS HM-2 Heavy Metal is a true legend in the history of distortion pedals. Its signature “chainsaw tone” with all knobs maxed is the defining voice of Swedish death metal, and the slightly milder sides of its personality can be heard on tracks from mainstream to shoegaze. After years of requests from hardcore HM-2 fans, the iconic stomp is now reborn three decades later in a special Waza Craft edition. The HM-2W delivers the authentic analog sound of the original in all its glory, coupled with lots of modern refinements for enhanced performance.
-
Standard Features
- Special edition Waza Craft pedal for the ultimate BOSS tone experience
- Authentic HM-2 appearance
- Standard mode delivers the original HM-2 tone with lower noise and maximized level
- Custom mode provides a more aggressive sound variation with special Waza Craft tuning
- Premium buffer for clean and clear tone when bypassed
- BOSS five-year warranty
When the HM-2W is in Standard mode, the tone and response of the original HM-2 pedal is reproduced with 100-percent authenticity. We were also able to add some modern improvements without affecting the sound, including reducing the noise floor and expanding the maximum level by 3 dB. And with the premium Waza Craft buffer on board, the sound is improved when the pedal is bypassed. Cranking every knob all the way up is the sound of Swedish death metal, and you can conjure a wide range of tones for other styles with the sensitive distortion and color controls.
The HM-2W’s Custom mode offers a similar sound character to Standard mode, but with just a little more of everything. The drive stage has a bit more gain and includes more of the fundamental guitar sound for extra attack and sharpness. In addition, the low and high-mid characteristics have been tweaked to provide increased fullness and definition.
Along with the original HM-2 sound, we made every effort to capture the pedal’s distinctive orange and black appearance, right down to the size and position of lettering on the panel. Every Waza Craft pedal features a mode switch for extended range, and it’s been moved to the top on the HM-2W to preserve the authentic control layout of the HM-2.
Since the beginning, the engineers at BOSS have been committed to achieving the finest guitar tones using any technology necessary, from old-school analog circuits to high-tech DSP. This enthusiastic spirit continues on with the Waza Craft series, bringing you exceptional tone and touch response through carefully selected analog components, refined circuitry, and meticulous attention to detail. Danelectro Nichols 1966 FuzzIN THE HILLS ABOVE HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA… sit several well known canyons. Beachwood Canyon, to the East of Hollywood, is home to the famous HOLLYWOOD sign. To the West sits Nichols Canyon, where Foxx pedals founder and current Danelectro® owner Steve lived with his parents in the mid 1960’s. It was in the garage of that home on Nichols Canyon Place that Steve created his first effects pedal, which he named “The Liverpool Fuzz Tone”. Steve had no money to buy a fuzz and no access to any schematics. So he created a completely unique circuit architecture that has never been seen again. Although he called his box a “fuzz”, it was in fact half way between a distortion and a fuzz. This incredible box dishes out delicious tones unlike those of any pedal ever made. While Steve labored to create this new box in 1966, less than 2 miles away in Laurel Canyon musicians were collaborating on what would become the most famous songs of the 1960’s.Price: $199.00

DOD Carcosa Fuzz with After Bias Control and 2 EQ SettingsA Modern Classic

Wide Range of Silicon Fuzz Tones
The wide range of usable gain with the Before control, and the powerful biasing of the After control allow it to fit into a wide range of musical styles and applications. The Carcosa has a bright character, but the Hi-Cut keeps it under control.

It can also be used as a bright dirty boost that can get into treble booster territory. If you are running a hot amp and need definition for solos, the Hali mode has you covered.
The DOD Carcosa Fuzz is a doorway into an alternate fuzz universe, where classic tones of legend coexist with splattered and shattered Pollock abstractions. Combining the Carcosa’s wide-ranging AFTER bias control with two toggle positions creates tones that range from porcine fatness to dessicated shards. This versatility makes the Carcosa Fuzz a good companion for dirty or clean amps. True bypass, tons of output, and the visage of the King in Yellow sets the stage for fuzzy madness. The DOD Carcosa Fuzz has an exaggerated mid-range and treble character that help it stand out in a mix. It has been designed to cut through a dense and heavy band but still have great note articulation with chords. However, when extreme bias (AFTER) ranges are selected many wild and over-the-top sounds are possible.Regular Price: $208.00Guaranteed Best Price: $149.99 -

Dunlop Authentic Hendrix ’68 Shrine Series Band of Gypsys FuzzDonning a custom finish that remixes celebrated rock artist John Van Hamersveld’s famous 1968 Shrine Auditorium Jimi Hendrix concert poster art, this pedal recreates the mysterious snarling fuzz tone the guitar legend used at several iconic live performances.
This special edition of the Band of Gypsys Fuzz pays tribute to the legendary Jimi Hendrix with a custom finish that remixes prolific and celebrated rock artist John Van Hamersveld’s famous 1968 Shrine Auditorium concert poster art. A buzzsaw starburst, peaceful sunflowers, and psychedelic lettering awash in warm, vibrant colors highlight the magic of contrasting forces.
Packed into an MXR mini housing, the Jimi Hendrix ’68 Shrine Series Band of Gypsys Fuzz is based on a mysterious Fuzz Face Distortion that Jimi Hendrix used at several iconic shows between 1969 and 1970, most notably the Band of Gypsys performance. Red with white knobs, this particular fuzz sounded like a completely different animal from any of the other Fuzz Face pedals in his arsenal, snarling with an aggressive, biting tone. The pedal itself has been lost to history, but its unmistakably unique sound lives on in recordings. Our engineers narrowed the sound down to a version of the Octavio® circuit that didn't have that pedal's famous octave-up effect. After making a few tweaks, they nailed it with the Band of Gypsys Fuzz Face Mini Distortion.
Now, you can get the same Fuzz Face tone Jimi used to woo the masses at some of his most famous performances.Regular Price: $214.27Guaranteed Best Price: $149.99 -
Dunlop Cry Baby Daredevil Fuzz WahThe Cry Baby Daredevil Fuzz Wah fuses the sweet and expressive voice of a modded Cry Baby with a gnarly custom fuzz circuit for a full palette of raw and aggressive tones. This pedal’s origin lies in Daredevil proprietor and builder Johnny Wator’s love for classic vintage circuits and the desire to create bold new sounds. Inspired by his personal wah-wielding guitar heroes, Johnny fine-tuned this circuit over several years, building them for friends and bandmates, before bringing it to Dunlop for consideration as a new addition to the lineup.
The Cry Baby Daredevil Fuzz Wah is the resulting collaboration, and in true Daredevil fashion, it’s straight-forward and downright dirty. The only external control is a heavy-duty baseball bat switch to toggle the fuzz on and off. Removing the bottom plate reveals two more controls: one to set the pedal’s output when the fuzz is engaged and another to dial in your preferred level of fuzz nastiness. For instant lead tone, boost both the output and gain—in one step, you’re ready to rip. This fuzz wah is packed with killer old school tones and enough power to blow the whole dang room to pieces.
It all comes in a special housing with a vintage crinkle finish base, a polished aluminum rocker top, and a custom design tread. Each one is hand built with thru-hole components and true bypass switching to round out this ode to to full-frontal rock ’n’ roll.Regular Price: $328.56Guaranteed Best Price: $229.99 -
